Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin Spice

It's happened you know.  Those little fall fairies that fly around sprinkling cinnamon, nutmeg and other pumpkin spice all over the place and into EVERYTHING.  You are just standing there minding your own business making caramel and the next thing you know everything smells like pumpkin pie.  You look around and you see it.  Little sprinkles of cinnamon and nutmeg dust.  The telltale signs that you have indeed  been hit by the pumpkin pie sprites.

I am sure this all started off innocently enough.  This life is full of "What if" moments.  We humans are a curious lot and so there are those that like to push the limits.  Perhaps it was one of those "Here, hold my beer" moments.  There is no actual documentation of when the whole pumpkin spice movement started.  It's not like the peanut butter and chocolate thing clearly documented by Reeses when peanut butter people and chocolate people just weren't paying attention and ran into each other.  This we can understand and readily accept.

But those pumpkin spice people are wayyyyy more sneaky than "accidentally" dumping their pumpkin spice into your coffee.  It's everywhere.  Just to give you an idea.  Yes there is pumpkin spice peanut butter, pumpkin spice air freshener, pumpkin spice Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies, Pumpkin Spice Pringles (yes I said Pringles), Pumpkin Spice candy corn, Pumpkin Spice dog treats ( yes your dog cares), and the list is endless.

I don't get it.  I run from pumpkin pie at any time of the year.  I do believe that there really can be too much of a good thing.  But there are plenty of folks around here that jump for joy at the thought of pumpkin spicing everything around them.

So unabashedly I present to you Snowflake Chocolates latest and greatest caramel creation.  A tasty little treat Pumpkin Spice caramel deliciously sprinkled with cinnamon sea salt.  Just that right combination of sweet, salty and savory.

Why you ask?  As my mother used to say "If Janie jumped off a bridge would you jump too?"  Without even hesitating we have jumped off the bridge with a pumpkin spice latte in one hand and a Snowflake Chocolates  pumpkin spice, cinnamon, sea salt caramel in the other. We have jumped on the pumpkin spice band wagon.  And Why Not?

Peace
